”Show us your socks” Sunday

March is Developmental Disabilities Aware- ness Month, and to show their support, Emmanuel United Church of Christ is having a “Show Us Your Socks Sunday” worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday to raise money for Ridge Area Arc.

Every year, Ridge Area Arc has a “Show Us Your Socks” campaign in which people throughout the local community are encouraged to wear colorful, fun socks to raise awareness and show support for people living with Developmental Disabilities. Money is gathered from those who participate, helping to fund the Arc’s programs.

Since 2022, Emmanuel UCC has had a partnership with Ridge Area Arc through their Garden Of Hope, a handicap accessible community garden that is utilized by the consumers of Arc on a weekly basis.

On Sunday, clients of Arc will be present at Emmanuel UCC’s worship service to take a special offering from those in attendance who are wearing their fun, outlandish, colorful socks.
