Rev. George Miller

PASTOR

Born on Long Island, NY, Rev. George Miller comes from a family active in volunteerism and creation care.  He has lived in Minneapolis, Grand Rapids, MI and St. Louis, where he attended Eden Theological Seminary.

 

Rev. Miller spent years working with abused/neglected children, teens living with developmental disabilities, and as an overnight chaplain at St. Louis University Hospital.  

Since 2010 Rev. Miller has served Emmanuel UCC, actively building relationships within the community, speaking at numerous city/county meetings, PRIDE Events, public functions, writing Letters to the Editor and serving as a board member for the NAACP, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Highlands Lakeside Theatre.  

 

Rev. Miller is a Walker Rural Institute Fellow, ADESE Fellow, a member of the UCC Rural/Small Church Coalition, part of the local LGTBQ Caucus, and organizer of the UCC Suncoast Clergy Gathering.  

 

Rev. Miller is known for his in-depth Bible Studies, inspiring sermons, and his way of bringing people from diverse backgrounds together in community.  

He enjoys time at the ocean, horror movies, and is a huge R&B fan with an extensive music collection and vast knowledge of music.
